Narrative:

ASOS reported WX throughout the time period as clear blo 120. Visibility was being reported as 10+ mi from XA00 - XC00 by the ASOS. Controllers diverted their attention from other duties to correct/augment the WX. The equipment was not experiencing mechanical problems but was inaccurate. Actual WX was 8-9 overcast and visibility 2 1/2-4 F throughout the period. VOR approachs to a 680 ft MDA were in progress. Pilots should not rely on non-augmented ASOS stations for accurate WX reports. Pilots can expect delays while controllers augment WX. We were fortunate to have adequate staffing for the morning push.
