Narrative:

Aircraft was naved on FMS. FMS/heading select switch somehow was turned off and aircraft was on a heading that would have missed tager X 5 NM to the east. At above 55 DME on anc VOR (anc 332/32) to the east of where we were supposed to be zan gave us a heading for traffic. We were off course.

Title: AN ACR FLC NAVING FROM FMS INPUT HAS THE FMS MODE INADVERTENTLY CHANGE TO HDG MODE AND THEY GET OFF COURSE ON THE ARR.

Narrative: ACFT WAS NAVED ON FMS. FMS/HDG SELECT SWITCH SOMEHOW WAS TURNED OFF AND ACFT WAS ON A HDG THAT WOULD HAVE MISSED TAGER X 5 NM TO THE E. AT ABOVE 55 DME ON ANC VOR (ANC 332/32) TO THE E OF WHERE WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE ZAN GAVE US A HDG FOR TFC. WE WERE OFF COURSE.
