Narrative:
Helicopter was cleared for ILS 7 approach, was just outside the OM when an opposite direction departure was released by the local controller. The helicopter was advised of the traffic and issued a vector off the approach for traffic. The helicopter then spotted the H/DC8 then was instructed to maintain visual.

Title: OPERROR BTWN HELI ON AN ILS APCH AND A DC8 DEPARTING OPPOSITE DIRECTION.
Narrative: HELI WAS CLRED FOR ILS 7 APCH, WAS JUST OUTSIDE THE OM WHEN AN OPPOSITE DIRECTION DEP WAS RELEASED BY THE LCL CTLR. THE HELI WAS ADVISED OF THE TFC AND ISSUED A VECTOR OFF THE APCH FOR TFC. THE HELI THEN SPOTTED THE H/DC8 THEN WAS INSTRUCTED TO MAINTAIN VISUAL.
