Narrative:

Location: 150 degree radial of leeville, approximately 100 mi. Approximately 20 mi south of hrv we had a large area of WX 80 mi ahead. The WX extended over J58 and appeared to extend to nepta. There was a few holes near the jet route, but they rapidly started to close with buildups from below. It was clear to the west and southwest, so we received a clearance to deviation west. When we changed ATC frequency the controller advised us that the WX extended quite a ways to the south. We received clearance direct to minnow, however, requested clearance to cigar intersection and after deviation we proceeded to cigar. During our deviation we inadvertently exceeded the 162 NM limit.

Narrative: LOCATION: 150 DEG RADIAL OF LEEVILLE, APPROX 100 MI. APPROX 20 MI S OF HRV WE HAD A LARGE AREA OF WX 80 MI AHEAD. THE WX EXTENDED OVER J58 AND APPEARED TO EXTEND TO NEPTA. THERE WAS A FEW HOLES NEAR THE JET RTE, BUT THEY RAPIDLY STARTED TO CLOSE WITH BUILDUPS FROM BELOW. IT WAS CLR TO THE W AND SW, SO WE RECEIVED A CLRNC TO DEV W. WHEN WE CHANGED ATC FREQ THE CTLR ADVISED US THAT THE WX EXTENDED QUITE A WAYS TO THE S. WE RECEIVED CLRNC DIRECT TO MINNOW, HOWEVER, REQUESTED CLRNC TO CIGAR INTXN AND AFTER DEV WE PROCEEDED TO CIGAR. DURING OUR DEV WE INADVERTENTLY EXCEEDED THE 162 NM LIMIT.
