Narrative:

As aircraft was cleared into position, first officer (PNF) asked if I had got the ATC clearance. I had not. At some time tower cleared us for takeoff. I elected to proceed and follow the PHL6 departure. Once airborne, departure gave us a transponder code and nothing more was said. This occurred because of a lack of proper flow of work. Certain items must always take place and require an organized pattern which was not followed for this flight.
