Narrative:
Departure clearance given, 'maintain 10000 ft expect 13000 ft in 10 mins.' on climb out from row, I was through 11000 ft when I contacted row departure to give them my position and altitude (non radar environment) and I realized I'd only been cleared to 10000 ft. In 2 months of flying the same route this was the first time I had not been cleared all the way to my requested altitude. A familiar routine combined with simple cockpit distrs (paperwork) caused a lack of attention which resulted in the altitude bust. There was no other traffic within 30 mi so there was no conflict. Better attention and a constant vigilance of clearance and actual position will prevent this in the future.
