Narrative:

This occurrence dealt specifically with 90 day takeoff and landing currency. I notified my crew scheduling department on feb/xx/96 to be advised that my currency status would become non current on mar/xx/96, if I didn't get one takeoff and landing. They advised me that they would enter this in the computer and advise the flight planning/crew coordination. I heard no word and received a bid line on feb/xx/96, that paired me with a senior captain, ab, and he would enable me to make one takeoff and landing. We were scheduled to position from the united states to kuala lumpur, malaysia, on other acrs in order to fly our pattern from kuala lumpur to dubai. Because, at present, we're short crew members, our crew scheduling department changed my captain from ab to clearance delivery. Why? Clearance delivery has less than 300 hours and 50 lndgs as a captain, so I and another first officer with more than 100 hours in type must fly with him until he gets more than 100 hours PIC in type. Captain clearance delivery gave me my wake-up call, whereby I notified him that if I fly with him to dubai, uae, that I would go non current. He said that we would call crew scheduling when we reached dubai and that we shouldn't delay this flight. We flew to dubai on MD11, whereby upon landing I became non current. That evening mar/xx/96 I received a facsimile from my director of training, ef stating that I was legal to fly as an international relief officer back to kuala lumpur, malaysia, from dubai, uae, but not occupy a pilot seat. Captain clearance delivery agreed with this because the flight was less than 8 hours duration (requiring only 2 pilots). I disagreed and advised that I ride as an observer and not be part of the active crew. He disagreed and I said I would sign my name to any required document under legal protest. My witness was first officer, hi. He said that he was a witness and I agreed that all my functions as a crew member were under legal protest. Upon arrival in kuala lumpur on mar/xx/96, crew scheduling then advised that the scheduled time from kuala lumpur to dubai on mar xx/96 would be done as me operating as an observer. Finally! Then I would commercial home, direct 'connection.' I would commercial home from dubai to amsterdam to chicago to seattle. I did operate kuala lumpur to dubai (mar/xx/96) as an international relief officer, again under protest.

Title: SHORT OF PLTS THE ACR SCHEDULED RPTR FO FOR FLTS WHEN HIS LNDG CURRENCY HAD EXPIRED. RPTR HAD NOTIFIED THE COMPANY WEEKS IN ADVANCE OF THE PROB, BUT APPARENTLY THEY IGNORED IT. WHEN HE WAS NO LONGER CURRENT AND WAS ORDERED TO FLY A TRIP, HE FILED A PROTEST, BUT WAS SCHEDULED TO FLY AS AN OBSERVER ONLY.

Narrative: THIS OCCURRENCE DEALT SPECIFICALLY WITH 90 DAY TKOF AND LNDG CURRENCY. I NOTIFIED MY CREW SCHEDULING DEPT ON FEB/XX/96 TO BE ADVISED THAT MY CURRENCY STATUS WOULD BECOME NON CURRENT ON MAR/XX/96, IF I DIDN'T GET ONE TKOF AND LNDG. THEY ADVISED ME THAT THEY WOULD ENTER THIS IN THE COMPUTER AND ADVISE THE FLT PLANNING/CREW COORD. I HEARD NO WORD AND RECEIVED A BID LINE ON FEB/XX/96, THAT PAIRED ME WITH A SENIOR CAPT, AB, AND HE WOULD ENABLE ME TO MAKE ONE TKOF AND LNDG. WE WERE SCHEDULED TO POS FROM THE UNITED STATES TO KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, ON OTHER ACRS IN ORDER TO FLY OUR PATTERN FROM KUALA LUMPUR TO DUBAI. BECAUSE, AT PRESENT, WE'RE SHORT CREW MEMBERS, OUR CREW SCHEDULING DEPT CHANGED MY CAPT FROM AB TO CD. WHY? CD HAS LESS THAN 300 HRS AND 50 LNDGS AS A CAPT, SO I AND ANOTHER FO WITH MORE THAN 100 HRS IN TYPE MUST FLY WITH HIM UNTIL HE GETS MORE THAN 100 HRS PIC IN TYPE. CAPT CD GAVE ME MY WAKE-UP CALL, WHEREBY I NOTIFIED HIM THAT IF I FLY WITH HIM TO DUBAI, UAE, THAT I WOULD GO NON CURRENT. HE SAID THAT WE WOULD CALL CREW SCHEDULING WHEN WE REACHED DUBAI AND THAT WE SHOULDN'T DELAY THIS FLT. WE FLEW TO DUBAI ON MD11, WHEREBY UPON LNDG I BECAME NON CURRENT. THAT EVENING MAR/XX/96 I RECEIVED A FAX FROM MY DIRECTOR OF TRAINING, EF STATING THAT I WAS LEGAL TO FLY AS AN IRO BACK TO KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, FROM DUBAI, UAE, BUT NOT OCCUPY A PLT SEAT. CAPT CD AGREED WITH THIS BECAUSE THE FLT WAS LESS THAN 8 HRS DURATION (REQUIRING ONLY 2 PLTS). I DISAGREED AND ADVISED THAT I RIDE AS AN OBSERVER AND NOT BE PART OF THE ACTIVE CREW. HE DISAGREED AND I SAID I WOULD SIGN MY NAME TO ANY REQUIRED DOCUMENT UNDER LEGAL PROTEST. MY WITNESS WAS FO, HI. HE SAID THAT HE WAS A WITNESS AND I AGREED THAT ALL MY FUNCTIONS AS A CREW MEMBER WERE UNDER LEGAL PROTEST. UPON ARR IN KUALA LUMPUR ON MAR/XX/96, CREW SCHEDULING THEN ADVISED THAT THE SCHEDULED TIME FROM KUALA LUMPUR TO DUBAI ON MAR XX/96 WOULD BE DONE AS ME OPERATING AS AN OBSERVER. FINALLY! THEN I WOULD COMMERCIAL HOME, DIRECT 'CONNECTION.' I WOULD COMMERCIAL HOME FROM DUBAI TO AMSTERDAM TO CHICAGO TO SEATTLE. I DID OPERATE KUALA LUMPUR TO DUBAI (MAR/XX/96) AS AN IRO, AGAIN UNDER PROTEST.
