Narrative:

Working at the fort lauderdale departure position, at XX25 local the radar began to strobe on several occasions. This causes the omittance of information for this time interval. This has occurred on many other occasions. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that the strobing problem has been intermittent and when it does occur it lasts for only 3 or 4 sweeps. He indicated they have had the problem since the installation of the ASR-9. Reporter stated he told his supervisor of the problem and thought it had been processed through appropriate channels to maintenance.
