Narrative:

Run-up area was in close proximity of adjacent hangars, during run-up of BE80 propeller wash affects nearby hangars. No other area to do run-up. To alleviate problem consideration should be given to creating a run-up area on the opposite side of runway, or move the existing hangar. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states that he was a flight instructor observer on this flight. The aircraft was a BE80 queen air. The flight was a business flight to show one of the pilots how the queen air flies. The pilot owner was upset at the proximity of the hangar and his run-up. Stated that he could not do the run-up facing into the wind as the road is so close behind the aircraft then (closer than it looks on his diagram). He indicated that this is probably the largest aircraft that has ever been into the airport. But they do need to create a run-up area duplicating what exists at the other end of the runway on the same side of the runway. There is nothing there that could be disturbed. PF called the airport manager on reaching destination to apologize for any problems that he created.

Title: BE80 THROWS PROP WASH ONTO HANGAR DURING PREFLT RUN-UP.

Narrative: RUN-UP AREA WAS IN CLOSE PROX OF ADJACENT HANGARS, DURING RUN-UP OF BE80 PROP WASH AFFECTS NEARBY HANGARS. NO OTHER AREA TO DO RUN-UP. TO ALLEVIATE PROB CONSIDERATION SHOULD BE GIVEN TO CREATING A RUN-UP AREA ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF RWY, OR MOVE THE EXISTING HANGAR. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THAT HE WAS A FLT INSTRUCTOR OBSERVER ON THIS FLT. THE ACFT WAS A BE80 QUEEN AIR. THE FLT WAS A BUSINESS FLT TO SHOW ONE OF THE PLTS HOW THE QUEEN AIR FLIES. THE PLT OWNER WAS UPSET AT THE PROX OF THE HANGAR AND HIS RUN-UP. STATED THAT HE COULD NOT DO THE RUN-UP FACING INTO THE WIND AS THE ROAD IS SO CLOSE BEHIND THE ACFT THEN (CLOSER THAN IT LOOKS ON HIS DIAGRAM). HE INDICATED THAT THIS IS PROBABLY THE LARGEST ACFT THAT HAS EVER BEEN INTO THE ARPT. BUT THEY DO NEED TO CREATE A RUN-UP AREA DUPLICATING WHAT EXISTS AT THE OTHER END OF THE RWY ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE RWY. THERE IS NOTHING THERE THAT COULD BE DISTURBED. PF CALLED THE ARPT MGR ON REACHING DEST TO APOLOGIZE FOR ANY PROBS THAT HE CREATED.
