Narrative:

During traffic pattern work, doing touch and goes. Single engine approach to land. Abeam numbers I saw my student place the gear lever in the down position. On final approach we completed a gumps check which included gas on mains, undercarriage down, mixture, propellers, and safety belts. At this time it appeared we had 3 green lights. Just prior to contact with the runway the tower said 'check gear down.' contact occurred.
