Narrative:

At 18000 ft performed in-range checklist, first officer had not reset his altimeter to 29.38. He started resetting his altimeter and I did not watch, he reset it to 30.38. His autoplt was on and aircraft leveled at 13000 ft on his altimeter on my altimeter 12300 ft. ATC gave further descent to 11000 ft. Flight was cle-lga.

Title: DSNDING THROUGH 18000 FT, PF, FO, SET WRONG ALTIMETER SETTING. CONSEQUENTLY THE ACFT LEVELED TOO LOW SINCE THE AUTOPLT #2 WAS IN USE. ATC INTERVENED AND CLRED ACFT TO A LOWER ALT.
