Narrative:
We were descending from 12000 ft to 10000 ft by approach control. On reaching 10000 ft I noticed altitude did not capture. I positioned altitude roll selector to altitude hold. Aircraft went below 10000 ft. I put roll selector to climb altitude, went to 9800 ft, and then started to climb. On reaching lax aircraft was written up. #1 pitch computer was changed.

Title: DURING DSCNT CAPT RPTR NOTICED THAT ALT CAPTURE DIDN'T HOLD ASSIGNED ALT, USED ALT SELECTOR TO CLB ACFT BACK TO ASSIGNED, BUT ONLY DEVIATED 200 FT. FAULTY #1 PITCH COMPUTER.
Narrative: WE WERE DSNDING FROM 12000 FT TO 10000 FT BY APCH CTL. ON REACHING 10000 FT I NOTICED ALT DID NOT CAPTURE. I POSITIONED ALT ROLL SELECTOR TO ALT HOLD. ACFT WENT BELOW 10000 FT. I PUT ROLL SELECTOR TO CLB ALT, WENT TO 9800 FT, AND THEN STARTED TO CLB. ON REACHING LAX ACFT WAS WRITTEN UP. #1 PITCH COMPUTER WAS CHANGED.
