Narrative:
Clearance to hold at glaco was misunderstood. We entered a holding pattern not as instructed by ATC. I believe it was caused by incomplete clearance from ZLA -- my inexperience on the aircraft as well as the first officer. Also glaco was not on our route or planned arrival. Fatigue was also a factor due to the time of day.

Narrative: CLRNC TO HOLD AT GLACO WAS MISUNDERSTOOD. WE ENTERED A HOLDING PATTERN NOT AS INSTRUCTED BY ATC. I BELIEVE IT WAS CAUSED BY INCOMPLETE CLRNC FROM ZLA -- MY INEXPERIENCE ON THE ACFT AS WELL AS THE FO. ALSO GLACO WAS NOT ON OUR RTE OR PLANNED ARR. FATIGUE WAS ALSO A FACTOR DUE TO THE TIME OF DAY.
