Narrative:

Listened to ATIS and copied runway 13 in use and immediately set HSI heading bug to 130 degrees. On call for taxi clearance told taxi to runway 13. Captain began taxi and I looked at destination WX due to question about runways in use at destination bwi due to snowstorm (short 20 min flight). When looked up got right into taxi checklist. When finally arrived at runway (about 1/2 mi taxi) tower said they were using runway 13 but since we had taxied to runway 31 and there was no traffic on approach to runway 13, we were cleared to depart runway 31. Guess the heads down and then immediate checklist just locked up my brain to original information and turned it over to captain. Do believe ground control should have questioned us but bottom line it was my fault. Lesson learned: never assume the other guy has it all under control and to always keep good situational awareness even when at a very low period of workload and at low volume airports.
