Narrative:

Preflight inspection found delaminated propeller blade. Affected area was near tip of blade and approximately the size of an egg, appeared also to be delaminated all the way to the metal shaft in center of blade. Mechanics inspected blade and signed off as airworthy based on a letter from hamilton-standard that stated as much as 25 square inches of delamination was acceptable. We flew aircraft, no incidents. Please question the airworthiness of such a large amount of delamination of a composite propeller blade. The EMB120 has hamilton-standard 14RF.9 propellers.
