Narrative:

In sjo, the agent for the ground handler informed me upon arrival from miami that our return flight plan (sjo-mia) had been filed via a route over gcm and northbound to mth, which took the flight over the western cuban corridor, rather than the flight plan we had already in hand which took the flight over czm to mia avoiding cuban airspace. When operated, the flight plan over cuba was approved and flown without incident, but I failed to inform the company flight follower of the change in routing prior to or during the flight. The flight follower and the company voiced displeasure over this.
