Narrative:
Landed on runway 24R at day, turned right on taxiway 'uniform' then held short of taxiway west. We started a 090 degree right turn on taxiway west. As we were passing through 45 degrees nosewheel began to skid. Brakes and reverse thrust ineffective. Aircraft slid off taxiway approximately 5-10 ft. Taxiway was examined subsequently, taxiway was covered with a thin sheet of ice.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: THE FLC AFTER LNDG AND CLRING THE RWY AND COMING TO A STOP COMMENCED A TURN TO TAXI, BUT THE NOSEWHEEL SLID AND NEITHER THE BRAKES NOR THE REVERSE WOULD KEEP THE ACFT FROM SLIDING OFF THE TXWY.
