Narrative:

On leveling at 9000 ft the autoplt did a rapid nose up climb to approximately 9650 ft. I had to pull circuit breaker and shut all electric power off to release the autoplt. I rapidly nosed aircraft nose down and was back to 9000 ft in seconds. Departure control asked what my altitude was, at that time I was descending through 9100-9000 ft. I said I was at 9100 ft. He said maintain 9000 ft, I said roger maintain 9000 ft. Departure control said he had lost my transponder, I said it should come on in a min. Departure control said he had my transponder back, departure control changed me to baton rouge approach control. Nothing more was said by lft departure or myself, I reset circuit breaker on autoplt and autoplt worked ok. This has happened before, however, autoplt would disconnect immediately. I rechked all functions and everything checks ok.
