Narrative:

Saw and smelled electrical smoke. Started emergency descent. Donned oxygen mask, declared emergency, asked for emergency airport closest to our position (headed for moline) 15 mi away. Accomplished emergency checklist and smoke went away. Asked for emergency equipment and kept them informed of our status. Briefed flight attendants that our status was not critical but precautionary now that smoke went away. Landed runway 27 normal landing, had equipment follow us to gate, deplaned normally. Had 5 crew inspect airplane. Nothing found abnormal.

Narrative: SAW AND SMELLED ELECTRICAL SMOKE. STARTED EMER DSCNT. DONNED OXYGEN MASK, DECLARED EMER, ASKED FOR EMER ARPT CLOSEST TO OUR POS (HEADED FOR MOLINE) 15 MI AWAY. HAD 5 CREW INSPECT AIRPLANE. NOTHING FOUND ABNORMAL.
