Narrative:

When ready for takeoff, I initiated a departure off runway 9. During takeoff roll, I heard an unusual noise. I aborted the takeoff by reducing power to idle and applying brakes to stop the aircraft. When I tried to abort I was at rotation speed and it appeared to me I would go off the end. I decided to turn the aircraft onto an intersecting runway (runway 3) by adding power to assist in a left turn. The aircraft came to a stop on the side of runway 3 in a snow bank, resulting in damage to the propeller, right wing and nose gear. After rethinking the situation, I believe the best course of action would be to secure the engine and come to a stop straight ahead on or off the end of the runway.

Title: PLT OF AN ATX SMA SEL ABORTED TKOF DUE TO AN UNUSUAL NOISE AND WENT OFF SIDE OF RWY INTO A SNOW BANK ON AN INTERSECTING RWY CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE ACFT PROP, WING AND NOSE GEAR.

Narrative: WHEN READY FOR TKOF, I INITIATED A DEP OFF RWY 9. DURING TKOF ROLL, I HEARD AN UNUSUAL NOISE. I ABORTED THE TKOF BY REDUCING PWR TO IDLE AND APPLYING BRAKES TO STOP THE ACFT. WHEN I TRIED TO ABORT I WAS AT ROTATION SPD AND IT APPEARED TO ME I WOULD GO OFF THE END. I DECIDED TO TURN THE ACFT ONTO AN INTERSECTING RWY (RWY 3) BY ADDING PWR TO ASSIST IN A L TURN. THE ACFT CAME TO A STOP ON THE SIDE OF RWY 3 IN A SNOW BANK, RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO THE PROP, R WING AND NOSE GEAR. AFTER RETHINKING THE SIT, I BELIEVE THE BEST COURSE OF ACTION WOULD BE TO SECURE THE ENG AND COME TO A STOP STRAIGHT AHEAD ON OR OFF THE END OF THE RWY.
