Narrative:

Upon departure from abe, as we climbed through 8000 ft, we received a right engine fire caption, the attention getters, and a fire bell for a brief moment (it then extinguished). No visible fire was observed. We initiated the appropriate emergency procedures from our QRH, declared an emergency, and returned for a noneventful landing where we proceeded to shut down the engine. It turned out to be a problem with the fire wire loop and controller mechanism.
