Narrative:

First officer flying and cleared to FL290. During climb in performance mode, we were cleared omega direct tqa. First officer changed autoplt from #2 to #1. Subsequently got an altitude warning and stopped climb at FL294. Descended to FL290. Note: pitch display on FMA showed performance cruise throughout deviation.
