Narrative:

On handoff from fay to flo, the automation showed the flight was still in handoff status when flo called and asked that the aircraft be switched so that the traffic could be exchanged. I was not depicting the traffic and relayed flo report of traffic. They advised they had taken the handoff miles before. When I initiated to stop the handoff I got an 'if' failed. After 'okaying' the track it showed the handoff attempt canceled.
