Narrative:

We were on arrival at kphl. WX was clear. We were following an air carrier Y jet and had him in sight. We were told by approach to square the turn to final and cleared for the visual to runway 09R behind air carrier Y. We requested runway 09L and were told to contact the tower with the request. We did. Tower told us to continue and asked if, indeed, we did have air carrier Y in sight. We acknowledged that we did. Tower cleared us for the visual to runway 09L. At no time did I lose sight of air carrier Y, nor did we overtake him until he had touched down on runway 09R. But, I think the tower controller may have been uncomfortable. He never did say what the separation was. Although not an excuse for pushing it as hard as I did. It was in large measure because of relations between pilots and management at the present time. We had incurred several delays during the trip from ind to ewr to phl that morning. It started with an aircraft show before leaving ind at ewr. The scheduled 30 min turn took 50 mins. We had done everything we possibly could to get back on schedule. But, 'the hurrier I go, the behinder I get.' I was attempting to preclude monday morning quarterbacking by flight management. Many pilots have been asked for detailed explanations of delays. I wanted to put as much distance between those type allegations and myself as possible. Unfortunately, I may have removed too much distance between myself and the other aircraft.

Title: FLC OF AN LGT CAUSED TWR CTLR CONCERN WITH SUFFICIENT VISUAL SEPARATION WITH ANOTHER ACFT FOR A PARALLEL RWY.

Narrative: WE WERE ON ARR AT KPHL. WX WAS CLR. WE WERE FOLLOWING AN ACR Y JET AND HAD HIM IN SIGHT. WE WERE TOLD BY APCH TO SQUARE THE TURN TO FINAL AND CLRED FOR THE VISUAL TO RWY 09R BEHIND ACR Y. WE REQUESTED RWY 09L AND WERE TOLD TO CONTACT THE TWR WITH THE REQUEST. WE DID. TWR TOLD US TO CONTINUE AND ASKED IF, INDEED, WE DID HAVE ACR Y IN SIGHT. WE ACKNOWLEDGED THAT WE DID. TWR CLRED US FOR THE VISUAL TO RWY 09L. AT NO TIME DID I LOSE SIGHT OF ACR Y, NOR DID WE OVERTAKE HIM UNTIL HE HAD TOUCHED DOWN ON RWY 09R. BUT, I THINK THE TWR CTLR MAY HAVE BEEN UNCOMFORTABLE. HE NEVER DID SAY WHAT THE SEPARATION WAS. ALTHOUGH NOT AN EXCUSE FOR PUSHING IT AS HARD AS I DID. IT WAS IN LARGE MEASURE BECAUSE OF RELATIONS BTWN PLTS AND MGMNT AT THE PRESENT TIME. WE HAD INCURRED SEVERAL DELAYS DURING THE TRIP FROM IND TO EWR TO PHL THAT MORNING. IT STARTED WITH AN ACFT SHOW BEFORE LEAVING IND AT EWR. THE SCHEDULED 30 MIN TURN TOOK 50 MINS. WE HAD DONE EVERYTHING WE POSSIBLY COULD TO GET BACK ON SCHEDULE. BUT, 'THE HURRIER I GO, THE BEHINDER I GET.' I WAS ATTEMPTING TO PRECLUDE MONDAY MORNING QUARTERBACKING BY FLT MGMNT. MANY PLTS HAVE BEEN ASKED FOR DETAILED EXPLANATIONS OF DELAYS. I WANTED TO PUT AS MUCH DISTANCE BTWN THOSE TYPE ALLEGATIONS AND MYSELF AS POSSIBLE. UNFORTUNATELY, I MAY HAVE REMOVED TOO MUCH DISTANCE BTWN MYSELF AND THE OTHER ACFT.
