Narrative:

We were cleared from the alley via taxiway J to runway 19, turned 180 degrees to taxi 27 back to taxiway J to sequence us behind a commuter. We then taxied across the runways to taxiway F. Approaching runway 8 we were cleared 'full length.' I then continued down the taxiway to what I thought was 'the full length' as specified. We were then cleared into position. As we turned onto what I believed was the end of runway 25L, the first officer remarked 'this doesn't look right' and it wasn't. Several approach lights loomed before us. Rather than attempting a turn, I elected to have a wing walker or tug assist us in turning around to taxiway 'F.' at no time did we leave the hard surface.

Title: FLC OF AN MLG BECAME STRANDED DURING TAXI FOR TKOF AFTER TAXIING TOO FAR.

Narrative: WE WERE CLRED FROM THE ALLEY VIA TXWY J TO RWY 19, TURNED 180 DEGS TO TAXI 27 BACK TO TXWY J TO SEQUENCE US BEHIND A COMMUTER. WE THEN TAXIED ACROSS THE RWYS TO TXWY F. APCHING RWY 8 WE WERE CLRED 'FULL LENGTH.' I THEN CONTINUED DOWN THE TXWY TO WHAT I THOUGHT WAS 'THE FULL LENGTH' AS SPECIFIED. WE WERE THEN CLRED INTO POS. AS WE TURNED ONTO WHAT I BELIEVED WAS THE END OF RWY 25L, THE FO REMARKED 'THIS DOESN'T LOOK RIGHT' AND IT WASN'T. SEVERAL APCH LIGHTS LOOMED BEFORE US. RATHER THAN ATTEMPTING A TURN, I ELECTED TO HAVE A WING WALKER OR TUG ASSIST US IN TURNING AROUND TO TXWY 'F.' AT NO TIME DID WE LEAVE THE HARD SURFACE.
