Narrative:

Ground control told me to taxi to the end of runway 18L. When I started to taxi, ground called me back saying he didn't know that I was on the cargo side of the airport, and if I could takeoff from C1 intersection. Looking at my map for the runway length I said that I could. I was then told to call the tower when ready, but by this time I had already started to taxi across runway 18L. When I switched over to the tower frequency, the person working tower said I should have not entered the runway. But with confusing information from ground 'taxi to the end of runway 18L' 'take it from the intersection,' plus trying to find information and the runway. I did not argue this point with the controller, but choose to say ok and file a NASA report.

Title: UNAUTH UNCOORD RWY ENTRY.

Narrative: GND CTL TOLD ME TO TAXI TO THE END OF RWY 18L. WHEN I STARTED TO TAXI, GND CALLED ME BACK SAYING HE DIDN'T KNOW THAT I WAS ON THE CARGO SIDE OF THE ARPT, AND IF I COULD TKOF FROM C1 INTXN. LOOKING AT MY MAP FOR THE RWY LENGTH I SAID THAT I COULD. I WAS THEN TOLD TO CALL THE TWR WHEN READY, BUT BY THIS TIME I HAD ALREADY STARTED TO TAXI ACROSS RWY 18L. WHEN I SWITCHED OVER TO THE TWR FREQ, THE PERSON WORKING TWR SAID I SHOULD HAVE NOT ENTERED THE RWY. BUT WITH CONFUSING INFO FROM GND 'TAXI TO THE END OF RWY 18L' 'TAKE IT FROM THE INTXN,' PLUS TRYING TO FIND INFO AND THE RWY. I DID NOT ARGUE THIS POINT WITH THE CTLR, BUT CHOOSE TO SAY OK AND FILE A NASA RPT.
