Narrative:

While sbound to mexico, I was traveling at 1500 ft. TCA floor in this area 1800 ft. Called to brown and advised to cross at or above 2000 ft. Initiated climb to 2200 ft, climbed out of 1800 ft and to 2000 ft before exiting into an area of class B airspace with a higher floor. There was no conflict, although there was an airliner some 1500-2000 ft above and 2 mi in front of my path. My error was to initiate climb before checking the floor of the TCA on chart and assuming I was in the area where the floor was 3000 ft.
