Narrative:

I elected to not cancel IFR flight plan into short field at night, flying a small non-reversed jet, while experiencing turbulence and windshear due to strong surface winds. After landing, I forgot to call indy approach and did not remember until reaching home, when I canceled via landline with terre haute radio. To correct: am getting a 'memory aid' that I can secure to panel and will have to remove before exiting aircraft to remind me to close flight plan.
