Narrative:

Myself and a flying partner were flying from ftg airport, in the denver area, to grand lake airport. While flying south of den class B, we called up approach control while transitioning the area of 01V. After our callup, the approach controller notified us we were within den class B airspace. This statement confused me as we were visually south of I-70 and at 6300 ft MSL, which on the denver TCA chart, pictorially shows us to be clear of denver class B airspace. Can the controllers see our exact position in regards to hwys and other landmarks on their radar scope?
