Narrative:

Night sortie for student to increase IFR proficiency. Departed from lfi VFR. Flew VOR approach to jgg, made calls to unicom 10 mi out, then as nearing jgg. Nearly overhead jgg, radio asked for our identify then informed us that airspace was restr due to helicopter. We climbed and departed. Military NOTAMS (local area) were checked, however, no references to restr airspace shown. Since no landing was planned at jgg, civil FSS was not called to check for NOTAMS. I called FSS next morning to see what NOTAM was to see if we had violated, and they had no record of NOTAMS at jgg. If there were restrs, they should be listed on military local NOTAMS. If not listed, should check with FSS prior to every flight.

NEARLY OVERHEAD JGG, RADIO ASKED FOR OUR IDENT THEN INFORMED US THAT AIRSPACE WAS RESTR DUE TO HELI. WE CLBED AND DEPARTED. MIL NOTAMS (LCL AREA) WERE CHKED, HOWEVER, NO REFS TO RESTR AIRSPACE SHOWN. SINCE NO LNDG WAS PLANNED AT JGG, CIVIL FSS WAS NOT CALLED TO CHK FOR NOTAMS. I CALLED FSS NEXT MORNING TO SEE WHAT NOTAM WAS TO SEE IF WE HAD VIOLATED, AND THEY HAD NO RECORD OF NOTAMS AT JGG.
