Narrative:
At departure gate in boi, jetway automatic-level caused upward vertical stress on main cabin door. Alert agent de-pwred automatic- level and removed stress. I observed a small hairline stress fracture on plastic molding at door bottom. I inspected door to include structure, trim, latches, light and pressure seal. All appeared normal. Arrival at msp, mechanic found 'hold-open' latch had broken. Apparent failure due to opening impact at msp gate.
