Narrative:

Route deviation due to WX in non radar environment. Routed by dispatch into large area of WX just north of sword intersection. Requested new route towards barrow then to gls. ZHU through phone patch said they were unable that route due to traffic. I informed them we could not follow our route due to severe WX ahead and informed them I would declare emergency if necessary and go towards barrow. Controller on 132.65 then cleared us on requested route. I never did declare emergency. But controller may have had to move other traffic to accommodate us.
