Narrative:

I was departing (takeoff) runway 28, intersecting runway 23L (at about 1500 ft). Landing B727 was still airborne when it crossed the intersection. I proceeded on the takeoff roll and encountered wake turbulence from B727. I erroneously judged that I would be at higher altitude when crossing the wake trail and that it would have more significantly diminished. I was still too low and encountered the wake. Nothing 'violent' but still upsetting. I should have waited longer before procedure. Also adding to problems, ATC, ground control had me driving all over the airport before setting me to runway 28. ATC may clear us for takeoff, but we need to be final judges of the situation.

Title: PLT OF AN SMA SEL ENCOUNTERS WAKE TURB DURING INITIAL CLB AFTER TKOF OVER AN INTERSECTING RWY ON WHICH AN LGT JUST PASSED OVER FOR LNDG.

Narrative: I WAS DEPARTING (TKOF) RWY 28, INTERSECTING RWY 23L (AT ABOUT 1500 FT). LNDG B727 WAS STILL AIRBORNE WHEN IT CROSSED THE INTXN. I PROCEEDED ON THE TKOF ROLL AND ENCOUNTERED WAKE TURB FROM B727. I ERRONEOUSLY JUDGED THAT I WOULD BE AT HIGHER ALT WHEN XING THE WAKE TRAIL AND THAT IT WOULD HAVE MORE SIGNIFICANTLY DIMINISHED. I WAS STILL TOO LOW AND ENCOUNTERED THE WAKE. NOTHING 'VIOLENT' BUT STILL UPSETTING. I SHOULD HAVE WAITED LONGER BEFORE PROC. ALSO ADDING TO PROBS, ATC, GND CTL HAD ME DRIVING ALL OVER THE ARPT BEFORE SETTING ME TO RWY 28. ATC MAY CLR US FOR TKOF, BUT WE NEED TO BE FINAL JUDGES OF THE SIT.
