Narrative:

I was flying a PA28-140. Teb radar just terminated the radar service and I turned south over the hudson river. After reporting my position on the CTAF, I initiated a left turn. As soon as I lowered my wing I noticed a hovering helicopter at approximately 300 ft below me mid river. I let the helicopter know I had him in sight and turned away. Then I proceeded sbound on the hudson river, jersey side, and heard the helicopter pilot say, 'you guys are really starting to annoy me and I am going to call the FAA.'

Title: NMAC BETWEEN PA28 AND HELICOPTER IN HIGH TFC DENSITY AIRPSACE NEAR TEB.

Narrative: I WAS FLYING A PA28-140. TEB RADAR JUST TERMINATED THE RADAR SVC AND I TURNED S OVER THE HUDSON RIVER. AFTER RPTING MY POS ON THE CTAF, I INITIATED A L TURN.
