Narrative:

After completing the bay tour of san francisco, I was returning to san carlos. I was landing after another aircraft. The aircraft (cessna 172) was in a stabilized approach 1/2 mi from the runway. There was a crosswind. Winds reported were 280 degrees at 17 KTS for runway 30. On touching down, I compensated for the crosswind using the aileron and found that the airplane was veering to the left. I applied full right rudder. The aircraft could not be controled. It hit the taxiway indicator, went over the grass and 2 taxiway lights. I could control it at that point and after the tower's instruction taxied it to parking.
