Narrative:
Ground personnel standing on tug directing me to parking spot. I noticed catering truck (pickup with camper-top) on left, but thought it was out of way. Also noticed ground person on left looking toward #1 engine -- tug director kept motioning me to park spot. Last time I looked left, no signal to stop. Focused attention to person on tug -- (jetway now blocks view out left) taxi in and I stop. Did not know I hit pickup truck till passenger told me on deplaning. #1 engine cowl was buffed out and flight left on time. Looking back, you want to get the job done, but sometimes you just have to say no and stop.

Narrative: GND PERSONNEL STANDING ON TUG DIRECTING ME TO PARKING SPOT. I NOTICED CATERING TRUCK (PICKUP WITH CAMPER-TOP) ON L, BUT THOUGHT IT WAS OUT OF WAY. ALSO NOTICED GND PERSON ON L LOOKING TOWARD #1 ENG -- TUG DIRECTOR KEPT MOTIONING ME TO PARK SPOT. LAST TIME I LOOKED L, NO SIGNAL TO STOP. FOCUSED ATTN TO PERSON ON TUG -- (JETWAY NOW BLOCKS VIEW OUT L) TAXI IN AND I STOP. DID NOT KNOW I HIT PICKUP TRUCK TILL PAX TOLD ME ON DEPLANING. #1 ENG COWL WAS BUFFED OUT AND FLT LEFT ON TIME. LOOKING BACK, YOU WANT TO GET THE JOB DONE, BUT SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO SAY NO AND STOP.
