Narrative:
On sayge arrival to den, approach asked our airspeed (plus or minus 300 KTS). She questioned whether we were given a 250 KT speed restr over sayge intersection by ZDV. We said no and she seemed surprised and irritated. Both first officer and I sincerely believe we did not receive a speed restr over sayge. However, were it to be pursued and the infamous 'tapes' proved us wrong, this report would hopefully be of some value (ie, amnesty). We don't believe we erred and traffic appeared light so we saw no reason to question not being given any speed restr. No recommendations offered.

Title: MLG ON ARR IS QUESTIONED BY ATC REGARDING SPD RESTR.
Narrative: ON SAYGE ARR TO DEN, APCH ASKED OUR AIRSPD (PLUS OR MINUS 300 KTS). SHE QUESTIONED WHETHER WE WERE GIVEN A 250 KT SPD RESTR OVER SAYGE INTXN BY ZDV. WE SAID NO AND SHE SEEMED SURPRISED AND IRRITATED. BOTH FO AND I SINCERELY BELIEVE WE DID NOT RECEIVE A SPD RESTR OVER SAYGE. HOWEVER, WERE IT TO BE PURSUED AND THE INFAMOUS 'TAPES' PROVED US WRONG, THIS RPT WOULD HOPEFULLY BE OF SOME VALUE (IE, AMNESTY). WE DON'T BELIEVE WE ERRED AND TFC APPEARED LIGHT SO WE SAW NO REASON TO QUESTION NOT BEING GIVEN ANY SPD RESTR. NO RECOMMENDATIONS OFFERED.
