Narrative:

Inbound to ory working paris control. We had a great deal of difficulty understanding the controller and had a few items repeated. I understood us to be cleared to EPR to depart EPR on the 074 degree radial. I entered this on the FMC scratch pad and then read it back. Later the controller asked us to verify that we were on the txu 074 degree radial, replied to standby and we were then told to remain on present heading, 074 degrees. Thus I'm not sure if the controller missed our readback or if I read back the wrong clearance, or if the controller issued us the wrong clearance. In the future I am going to insist that the idents be read back phonetically ie, tango uniform sierra, to be sure communication is in fact occurring between my aircraft and ATC.

Title: 767 FLC HAS CLRNC CONFUSION ON APCH TO ORY, FRANCE. LANGUAGE PROB.

Narrative: INBOUND TO ORY WORKING PARIS CTL. WE HAD A GREAT DEAL OF DIFFICULTY UNDERSTANDING THE CTLR AND HAD A FEW ITEMS REPEATED. I UNDERSTOOD US TO BE CLRED TO EPR TO DEPART EPR ON THE 074 DEG RADIAL. I ENTERED THIS ON THE FMC SCRATCH PAD AND THEN READ IT BACK. LATER THE CTLR ASKED US TO VERIFY THAT WE WERE ON THE TXU 074 DEG RADIAL, REPLIED TO STANDBY AND WE WERE THEN TOLD TO REMAIN ON PRESENT HDG, 074 DEGS. THUS I'M NOT SURE IF THE CTLR MISSED OUR READBACK OR IF I READ BACK THE WRONG CLRNC, OR IF THE CTLR ISSUED US THE WRONG CLRNC. IN THE FUTURE I AM GOING TO INSIST THAT THE IDENTS BE READ BACK PHONETICALLY IE, TANGO UNIFORM SIERRA, TO BE SURE COM IS IN FACT OCCURRING BTWN MY ACFT AND ATC.
