Narrative:

On very short final (100-200 ft AGL) tower cleared an airline heavy for departure on runway 8R. We were landing on runway 8L. Just crossing threshold of runway 8L I saw an air carrier L-1011 moving towards runway 8R from taxiway B. I added power very aggressively and was hit by a violent jet blast on right side of aircraft almost immediately. This occurred at 30 ft AGL. Directional control was maintained and a normal landing was made. Factors: 1) departures do not hold normally on taxiway B. 2) L-1011 tail was pointed at our touchdown zone. 3) poor sequencing of tower's takeoff clearance to L-1011. 4) uphill slope of taxiway H to get to runway 8R requires the use of extra thrust to move. 5) no ATC warning to us for jet blast, or to heavy to use minimum power. 6) high location of thrust of L-1011 engine #2 and rearward position. 7) VFR conditions allowed me to see what was about to occur and allowed power to be added and airspeed increase prior to the incident. If it was IMC, I feel that my aircraft would have been blown off the north side of runway 8L.

Title: WHILE ON SHORT FINAL, A 737-500 FLC AGGRESSIVELY ADDED PWR IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN DIRECTIONAL CTL. VIOLENT JET BLAST FROM AN L-1011 HAD ENTERED THE 737'S TOUCHDOWN ZONE, AS A RESULT OF THE L-1011'S POSITIONING FOR A PARALLEL RWY.

Narrative: ON VERY SHORT FINAL (100-200 FT AGL) TWR CLRED AN AIRLINE HVY FOR DEP ON RWY 8R. WE WERE LNDG ON RWY 8L. JUST XING THRESHOLD OF RWY 8L I SAW AN ACR L-1011 MOVING TOWARDS RWY 8R FROM TXWY B. I ADDED PWR VERY AGGRESSIVELY AND WAS HIT BY A VIOLENT JET BLAST ON R SIDE OF ACFT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. THIS OCCURRED AT 30 FT AGL. DIRECTIONAL CTL WAS MAINTAINED AND A NORMAL LNDG WAS MADE. FACTORS: 1) DEPS DO NOT HOLD NORMALLY ON TXWY B. 2) L-1011 TAIL WAS POINTED AT OUR TOUCHDOWN ZONE. 3) POOR SEQUENCING OF TWR'S TKOF CLRNC TO L-1011. 4) UPHILL SLOPE OF TXWY H TO GET TO RWY 8R REQUIRES THE USE OF EXTRA THRUST TO MOVE. 5) NO ATC WARNING TO US FOR JET BLAST, OR TO HVY TO USE MINIMUM PWR. 6) HIGH LOCATION OF THRUST OF L-1011 ENG #2 AND REARWARD POS. 7) VFR CONDITIONS ALLOWED ME TO SEE WHAT WAS ABOUT TO OCCUR AND ALLOWED PWR TO BE ADDED AND AIRSPD INCREASE PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT. IF IT WAS IMC, I FEEL THAT MY ACFT WOULD HAVE BEEN BLOWN OFF THE N SIDE OF RWY 8L.
