Narrative:

Flight planned for meade 8 departure. Pre departure clearance had a line at the bottom stating turn to 060 degree heading. While reviewing the pre departure clearance, a young child came into the cockpit. We showed him the cockpit. He left. I did not go back to the pre departure clearance to ensure I hadn't missed anything. On departure, departure control asked if we were heading direct peach springs or had we received a clearance of O60 degrees heading. We said we hadn't received a 060 degree heading, but then we studied the pre departure clearance and found it at the bottom. No traffic conflicts arose.
