Narrative:
This problem arose due to myself, the PIC, not contacting flight service for NOTAMS. I used 'weathermation' to check the WX and did not receive the NOTAM about the temporary restr over decker due to police work. Myself and a student pilot flew and circled over decker trying to see the location of the activity. I then landed at Y83 to see if anyone knew the exact location of the activity. 1 pilot I talked to mentioned the restr airspace at decker so I immediately contacted flight service and found this to be true. I had just been circling in restr airspace. I never saw any police activity or any other aircraft in the area.

Title: A FLT INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT FAILED TO OBTAIN NOTAMS PRIOR TO FLT, AND MANEUVERED THROUGH TEMPORARY FLT RESTR AIRSPACE, UNKNOWINGLY.
Narrative: THIS PROB AROSE DUE TO MYSELF, THE PIC, NOT CONTACTING FLT SVC FOR NOTAMS. I USED 'WEATHERMATION' TO CHK THE WX AND DID NOT RECEIVE THE NOTAM ABOUT THE TEMPORARY RESTR OVER DECKER DUE TO POLICE WORK. MYSELF AND A STUDENT PLT FLEW AND CIRCLED OVER DECKER TRYING TO SEE THE LOCATION OF THE ACTIVITY. I THEN LANDED AT Y83 TO SEE IF ANYONE KNEW THE EXACT LOCATION OF THE ACTIVITY. 1 PLT I TALKED TO MENTIONED THE RESTR AIRSPACE AT DECKER SO I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED FLT SVC AND FOUND THIS TO BE TRUE. I HAD JUST BEEN CIRCLING IN RESTR AIRSPACE. I NEVER SAW ANY POLICE ACTIVITY OR ANY OTHER ACFT IN THE AREA.
