Narrative:

Leveling at 2000 ft MSL per ATC instructions power was manually reduced to idle thrust. When throttles were advanced crew and jumpseater observed #1 engine egt indication at 1250 degree C with overtemp light illuminated. #1 engine throttle was returned to idle with no decrease in temperature. Crew followed in-flight engine shutdown checklist, landed safely after 4 mins of single engine flight. Emergency declared, no equipment required.

Narrative: LEVELING AT 2000 FT MSL PER ATC INSTRUCTIONS PWR WAS MANUALLY REDUCED TO IDLE THRUST.
