Narrative:
Arrival procedure lax causes RA. Cleared runway 25L approach lax. Air carrier Y inbound from south cleared over me to visual runway 25R and remain behind me on final and maintain visual on me. Started getting RA showing him 100-300 ft on top of me and RA vsi full deflection down inside OM. I finally felt better when he passed me and I could tell where he was. He looked real close off my right side. I felt like I had a CAT on my back and didn't know how to get it off. I talked to both lax tower supervisor and south coast supervisor. With this new equipment they can't get that close to us, causing all the bells and whistles going off. I wanted to go around but felt, with the position he was at, that would have been a poor choice.
