Narrative:

My student and I were on a VFR flight to keystone airport and visibility was bad (5-6 NM haze). My student got off his plotted course. Apparently when he was 5 mi north of kay larkin (28J) I knew that we were north of plotted course and very close to restr area R2903A, but I did not realize that we were in it because the visibility was quite bad. Around XA40 that day, my student realized that he was lost. He called up gainsville FSS and asked for a DF/steer. FSS told him to steer heading 040 degrees to get to 42J. I then saw that FSS took us even further away from 42J, which was our destination. I told them about it. They gave us another heading which took us straight through R2903A.

Title: AN INSTRUCTOR THOUGHT THAT HE HAD PENETRATED A RESTR AREA.

Narrative: MY STUDENT AND I WERE ON A VFR FLT TO KEYSTONE ARPT AND VISIBILITY WAS BAD (5-6 NM HAZE). MY STUDENT GOT OFF HIS PLOTTED COURSE. APPARENTLY WHEN HE WAS 5 MI N OF KAY LARKIN (28J) I KNEW THAT WE WERE N OF PLOTTED COURSE AND VERY CLOSE TO RESTR AREA R2903A, BUT I DID NOT REALIZE THAT WE WERE IN IT BECAUSE THE VISIBILITY WAS QUITE BAD. AROUND XA40 THAT DAY, MY STUDENT REALIZED THAT HE WAS LOST. HE CALLED UP GAINSVILLE FSS AND ASKED FOR A DF/STEER. FSS TOLD HIM TO STEER HDG 040 DEGS TO GET TO 42J. I THEN SAW THAT FSS TOOK US EVEN FURTHER AWAY FROM 42J, WHICH WAS OUR DEST. I TOLD THEM ABOUT IT. THEY GAVE US ANOTHER HDG WHICH TOOK US STRAIGHT THROUGH R2903A.
