Narrative:

Controller assigned heading of 340 degree to intercept runway 01 ILS localizer. Standard clearance is to intercept runway 01 right localizer. When we read back 'intercept runway 01R localizer' we received no acknowledgement. Controller then asked which localizer we had joined. When we told him the runway 01R localizer at iad he told us he assigned runway 01L localizer. Instructed us to continue approach. Landed uneventfully. Classic readback - hearback error.
