Narrative:

Due to a large WX system, departed dfw wbound. ATC routed so far west, then south, we had to divert to jan for fuel. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that his original destination was atl but because of the long WX/traffic delayed route, it was necessary to stop at jan for fuel. In addition, he was advised by ATC that they would be routed way north of purposed route and then have delays expected at atl when they arrived in that area. The aircraft was a boeing 727-200.
