Narrative:
Had filed IFR from L66 to sns. Departing L66 I had attempted to contact ont approach for activation. When ont approach idented me they stated that I had violated both chino and ont airspace. I had been using the #1 navigation (RNAV) from pdz VOR and had not noticed that the RNAV was active and was displaced to the riverside airport. Corrective action: include the RNAV in the preflight checklist.

Title: PLT OF AN SMT TWIN FAILED TO OPEN IFR FLT PLAN RESULTING IN PENETRATION OF CLASS C AIRSPACE.
Narrative: HAD FILED IFR FROM L66 TO SNS. DEPARTING L66 I HAD ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT ONT APCH FOR ACTIVATION. WHEN ONT APCH IDENTED ME THEY STATED THAT I HAD VIOLATED BOTH CHINO AND ONT AIRSPACE. I HAD BEEN USING THE #1 NAV (RNAV) FROM PDZ VOR AND HAD NOT NOTICED THAT THE RNAV WAS ACTIVE AND WAS DISPLACED TO THE RIVERSIDE ARPT. CORRECTIVE ACTION: INCLUDE THE RNAV IN THE PREFLT CHKLIST.
