Narrative:

Upon gear retraction, a loud noise was heard in nosewheel well area. I thought it was the nosewheel area. I thought it was the nosewheel vibrating in the well. Captain/first officer theorized anything from blown tire to delamination of retread on nose tire. Gear up indication was normal and decision was made to continue flight to hnl. During the flight the crew prepared for all contingencies. We discussed normal landing with the blowing out near end of landing roll. Also, if nose gear would hang up and not be able to get down, emergency evacuate/evacuation, etc. This was also discussed with company in msp as well as hnl. Both operations and maintenance were advised. Upon reaching hnl, we requested a separate runway and a precautionary approach. Gear was lowered normally and 3 down indication was normal. A normal landing was made. Rollout normal. Upon inspection of the nosewheel it was discovered that the retread on the tire had come off. No significant damage to nosewheel area.

CAPT/FO THEORIZED ANYTHING FROM BLOWN TIRE TO DELAMINATION OF RETREAD ON NOSE TIRE. GEAR UP INDICATION WAS NORMAL AND DECISION WAS MADE TO CONTINUE FLT TO HNL. UPON REACHING HNL, WE REQUESTED A SEPARATE RWY AND A PRECAUTIONARY APCH. GEAR WAS LOWERED NORMALLY AND 3 DOWN INDICATION WAS NORMAL. A NORMAL LNDG WAS MADE. ROLLOUT NORMAL. UPON INSPECTION OF THE NOSEWHEEL IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE RETREAD ON THE TIRE HAD COME OFF. NO SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO NOSEWHEEL AREA.
