Narrative:

On takeoff out of cvg runway 27, (10000 ft long) aborted takeoff due to engine failure #3 engine. Aborted takeoff prior to V1/vr and followed company policy and procedures for an engine failure prior to vr. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that the cause of the #3 engine of the B-727 was failure of the engine driven fuel pump (drive shaft sheared). The intended cargo flight was canceled.
