Narrative:

On jan/xx/95, I took off at metropolitan east airport (3k6). At XA30 am, the airport manager closed the airport (3 mins after I took off). At the time I took off, the runway was in fair condition, braking action was fair to poor, due to the snow. We had no precipitation that whole day. I called at least 20 times that day to see when the airport would reopen. At XB15 pm the airport manager told flight service it would reopen momentarily. At XC00 pm, in-flight, I called approach control. Approach and I did not and do not think I was in violation of the FARS. I, the pilot, determined the airport to be in safe working order. I have reason to believe the airport manager closed the airport so that I could not use the runway that day. This was a demonstration flight, part 91.

APCH AND I DID NOT AND DO NOT THINK I WAS IN VIOLATION OF THE FARS. I, THE PLT, DETERMINED THE ARPT TO BE IN SAFE WORKING ORDER.
